<p>One good way to lose pounds is to breastfeed. One of the reasons your body gains extra weight during your pregnancy is that it is storing up calories for nourishing your baby even after he is born. Breastfeeding burns 200-500 extra calories a day. This is nature&#8217;s way of helping you return to your pre-baby weight. However, we know that not every mother is able to breastfeed, so fortunately there are other ways you can get back in shape as well.</p>

<p>The American Heart Association says that adopting healthy eating habits permanently, rather than impatiently pursuing crash diets in hopes of losing unwanted pounds in a few days through fad quick weight loss plans.</p>
<p>What is a fad diet?  It&#8217;s a well marketed diet with some miracle scheme to <a target="_blank" title="lose weight" href="http://www.weightkicker.com">lose weight</a> in an impossible manner, often by eating nothing but one food like a cabbage.</p>
<p>One food or one type of food is generally overemphasized with fad quick weight loss diets. They don&#8217;t include a variety of foods or good balance, a violation of the first principle of good nutrition, eat a balanced diet that includes a variety of foods. </p>
<p>If you are able to stay on such a diet for more than a few weeks, you may develop nutritional deficiencies, because no one type of food has all the nutrients a human being needs for good health. The Cabbage Soup Diet is an example. The myth of this diet is that cabbage soup is some sort of weight loss potion. </p>
